Thought Provoking Read

When you're playing a video game you don't start at the final boss level, you work your way through the little guys, the mini bosses, the level bosses, and then the final boss.

This blog entry I stumbled across puts the state of the American Political system quite well.

Honestly this expounds on my thought process back on this entry. Basically when it comes to electing our leader, we have a choice of Wal-Mart or Target, and that is it. Sure there are a few little stores in the mall around the Wal-Mart or Target, oh and that one place you used to go as a kid but now is just musty and weird.

I mean sure, a few people shop there now and then and buy stuff, just enough to keep them afloat but the Wal-Mart and Target really draw all the attention.

It doesn't have to be that way, but unless something changes big time there is no way to fix it. Or is there?

Maybe if there are Libertarian or Green candidates running for the smaller offices - local, state, even federal voting for them would help bring about some change?

When you're playing a video game you don't start at the final boss level, you work your way through the little guys, the mini bosses, the level bosses, and then the final boss. So maybe if you vote libertarian for city council, or school board, or other offices you can build a reputation for these parties.

While I'll never vote for Wal-Mart and will end up voting for Target because I want Wal-Mart shut down, I don't really like Target that much either. But at least Target isn't 'the hood' when you go to it and you won't get beat up because you don't agree with Wal-Mart's business practices.
