Tinfoil Hat Time


I watch / read too much sci-fi or things based on history I think some days, but then others when I see someone being attacked as 'unpatriotic' for expressing their ideals I wonder what's happening to our freedoms...

OK with the recent announcements from Our Fearless Leaders (tm) and the 'new threats' from the idiots formerly known as Al Qaeda (with many spelling incantations mind you) I've started thinking.

See I made the mistake of watching Babylon 5 Seasons 1 - 4 for about the last three weeks. In it there was a new president brought in under dubious circumstances etc, things started getting odd. A group called the 'night watch' was formed to watch on their own people for 'seditious acts' etc. Really a play on the events leading up to World War 2, etc.

Anyway, I'm seeing parallels with that and with the way things have been going in our government. Now we have a new threat really close to an election or portions of the electoral process. I'm telling you I will get a tinfoil hat and put it on and hide in my office for days if something happens and things are 'suspended for the good of public safety' or something like that.
