Remember Eliza?

Jenny18 is a completely scripted implementation of ELIZA that responds to requests of IRC based cybersex and has over 3600 responses in 'stupid person' talk as the author puts it.

OK, for those of you that haven't been using computers for a while, this will be new and maybe even creepy. For those of us that remember ELIZA. She/it has been around since the 60s. ELIZA emulates a Rogerian psychologist.

ELIZA was a 'dumb' program that has almost no intelligence whatsoever, only tricks like string substitution and canned responses based on keywords. Yet when the original ELIZA first appeared in the 60's, some people actually mistook her for human. ELIZA would work really well if you thought it was a psychologist and kept things about yourself and your life.

Well, fast forward to the year 2004 and the advent of IRC and the sex chat rooms. Take a video game music author with some spare time and the ability to write some IRC scripts and you get Jenny18. Jenny18 is a completely scripted implementation of ELIZA that responds to requests of IRC based cybersex and has over 3600 responses in 'stupid person' talk as the author puts it.

There are some very funny examples, nay, real logs from the chats that have been initiated. Some long, some short. A really funny collection of one-liners where the script sometimes accidentally showed it's true colors
