iMac G5 Arrives
I'm fully up and running on it and took a quick
look at Final Cut Express long enough to know 'holy cow I need to read a book on
this' I tried to import a few movies only to have it crash so I need to figure
out what is going on there.
Finally. Since waiting on 8/31 when I placed the
order the Fed Ex truck drove up and dropped of my new
baby.
Was
quite happy to see it. I cut the tape and put the knife away and came back to
find
this
Apparently
he was excited too, to play with the box that is. I got it opened up and was
happy to see a few
things...
I
was wondering a few things. First if anyone cares Final Cut Express pre-loaded
doesn't mean anything weird other than they install it for you, and send you the
book and the CD with it. I was happy to see that. I was really happy to see
that they included the first set of batteries for the bluetooth keyboard and
mouse. They also weren't those 'no name never heard of em brand' of batteries
but Energizer
E2's.
I
got the 20" iMac 1.8GHz with 1GB of RAM, 250GB Hard drive, and the airport &
bluetooth stuff installed standard. I must say, a 20" iMac is HUGE. This is
it next to the iMac 15" I was using (gave the wife the powerbook some time
ago)Anyway. I'm fully up and running
on it and took a quick look at Final Cut Express long enough to know 'holy cow I
need to read a book on this' I tried to import a few movies only to have it
crash so I need to figure out what is going on
there. All and all I'm pretty excited.
I need to turn my head side to side when I read the screen though still. And I
sure can cram a lot more windows open at one time around the
screen.Great stuff. I'll post more
as I get to using this a lot more.
