Print Explosion Deluxe by Nova Technologies - A Mini Review

For $60, I consider it a bit expensive for no more than it does at the moment.

I picked up Print Explosion Deluxe by Nova Development for Angi the other day when I ordered my iPod. Since we got a Mac we had yet to find a OS X version of software. We bought print shop with it initially but it was an OS 9 version and wouldn't work with the printer (whee, nice one there boys).

Angi installed it while I was at work, so that's a major test of the 'ease of use' section. She then tried to print something and it blew up. Nice one. When I got home I checked their website and found some updates, downloaded them and it worked better. Meaning it printed but then the software doesn't talk to the printer driver and doesn't know the orientation and paper size, not a good thing for printer software.

Those two semi-annoying defects non-withstanding Angi has now started to try and 'create her own' card vs. using the many canned objects. She got rather annoyed because it is less than intuitive on how to let her just do what she wants. Apparently to create a new 'blank' card you have to go through the same exact steps you would if you were doing a pre-built one. However everything is blank and you just have to keep clicking next until you get through, then you can start to edit & insert what you want into them.

She is getting the hang of it now, and I'll try and get her comments more once she's started creating things here and there. I'm sure we're going to be wasting a lot of paper until she figures out how to manually set the printer to work with what it is printing.

For $60, I consider it a bit expensive for no more than it does at the moment.
