Gone Photo Crazy
Well the new lenses finally arrived on Thursday

Well the new lenses finally arrived on Thursday
or Friday, and while I was waiting on those to arrive I kind of went crazy and
bought some light stands, another flash, and some umbrellas to try my hand at
photography in a stuido like setting. The idea is to take some pictures of the
kids to see if I could 'do better' than the photo factory Sears
does.
So I now have three light stands,
umbrellas, another flash, and associated mounting pieces coming this week so I
can whip out the lightmeter I bought last year and try my hand at photography in
a 'studio' type environment. We're going to use some sheets at first for a
backdrop but I even entertained the idea of purchasing a background or too until
I saw what they cost. Sheets it is for now
:)
Then I also finally found the
bracket thing that I saw at Scott's wedding years ago now. It let the guy keep
the flash upright but turn the camera from portrait to landscape mode. That's
one thing that has been a challenge for me. I've been unable to get good
portraits with the flash mounted on camera because there is nothing to bounce
off when you turn it sideways.
So
hopefully I can have some mobile fun with
that.
Tomorrow I head to Kansas City
after an eye appointment. Got to talk with the folks at Sprint and see what's
going on there. Hopefully I'll get to see everyone Monday evening in Lawrence
if my flights work out.
