Back in NC


We made it back to NC late Thursday night.

We got back into NC about 11:15 or so EST from US Airways.

Other than a bit of an issue when checking in, it was an uneventful trip.

When we checked in the folks at the gate informed us that it'd be an additional $100 in fees because of the weight of our luggage.

My only response was 'how in the hell did we get here?' I kept saying that over and over and finally someone there decided I was going to get ugly and hold up the line. They found some cardboard boxes and made us move stuff over until our luggage was under 50lbs each. I know when we left they were each about 70 lbs because we ran into an issue at Thanksgiving where our luggage was slightly over 70 lbs and Southwest told us. So this time we made sure to weight them ahead of time and they said nothing at the RDU airport.

So we won't be using US Air again.

Other than that the kids were very good. Becca finally fell asleep about 20 min before we landed in Pittsburgh and she was awake the whole trip from Pittsburgh to Raleigh/Durham. While we were waiting for our luggage to get out (yet another thing against US Air, their luggage handlers must suck big time, took them 30 min to get our stuff out just like at KCI) Becca was running around a pole yelling okie dokie over and over which was rather amusing. If it was not such a pain to do I'd have gotten the video camera out to catch that little trip.

All in all it was a fun time, and the flights weren't that bad. We're not sure if we'll be able to get back in time for Mandy's graduation but we're going to see what we can do.
