Bought some stuff


We've got several sets of new pictures up and online with the kids in their outfits for their Easter pictures which have come back and been mailed out this morning by the wife to everyone and anyone.

Picked up two new lenses for my camera. I had been debating a 80mm telescope with associated options but decided to go with the money I'd have spent there on bigger/better lenses on the camera instead.

So we are getting a 24-70 f/2.8 and a 300mm f/4 IS lens. Should be nice to get some really advanced glass like that. I've found many a time I could have used a faster lens, and the big gun will be fun for when we go to DC in a few weeks

So while I was at it I picked up 320GB external hard drive for the iMac. We do a bit of movie editing and the hard drive fills up rather quickly. That way if we ever upgrade we can just unplug it from the iMac and then plug it into the new computer

I guess I'd not posted about the family in a while. They looked pretty good but I've decided that it's time to stop using Sears. The pictures look like they came out of sheer luck. Each pose has a good lucky shot but then another element that is just 'eh' or worse. Like there is a great picture of Angi and the kids with Becca cuddling her.

However Calvin was tilted back so his head is lolled back. A good photographer would have caught that and when you're paying that much for them you'd think that they'd have noticed that. Each one has an issue like that, a little niggly one, but after $230 of pictures you'd think they'd catch posing like that.

So next time we'll use a better photographer. Plus the last time we did that was with Melissa and the pictures turned out so well and we spent about the same amount of money, if not less.

Other than that Angi's family is coming to visit for Easter. Her Dad & Susan are coming, then her cousin is driving up from Sanford and her other cousin is coming down from Richmond, VA. Then my Aunt and family are coming so it is going to be a full house.

Going to smoke some ribs I think. Should be really good.
