Apparently it was a bit of a hoax. He found an empty case and decided to freak out some of his Mac friends. Apparently he did it too well because he received over 1300 emails in 24 hrs ranging from 'moron' to 'you must die' type. Not sure I agree with the latter but I do with the former.
