The thoughts that float through my head when I remember to jot them down. An insight into the madness that is me.

Sigh. Here I had big plans to pay down my visa cards I go and find my wife has spent the rest of my hard earned money on of all things...

My Birthday present.

I'd have been happy witha $20 LEGO set, but no, she dumps a fortune on stuff. Then, I accidentally find what she got by updating a wish list. That was rather annoying of them to point out what'd been bought (and how many) while I was adding new items to it (It's a site with frequent new stuff). Pretty annoying.

She spent too much.

Whoo Hoo. i've only spent the last, oh, 6 hours reloading VMWare ESX server on the x440 because the last person I sent it to for a 'demo' decided he needed to 'demo' how to wipe the hard drives. So I've installed ESX Server, WIndows NT in a VM, RH Linux 7.3 in a VM, two Win2k AS for Clustering VMs, and then a Win2k Server for the AD Controller.

Gad. I'm not even finished because my key code for win2k server isn't working now.

There are days I really get frustrated with this stuff.

Ordered an iPod. My steps down towards Macintosh-dom appear more certain. Got the 20GB model as more of a gift to myself for my birthday coming up on the 16th. I started the low-carbohydrate atkins diet and will try and document what I've eaten each day.

Breakfast I had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and a 32oz decaf coffe with 1oz whole milk.
Lunch: The insides of a Stromboli (Mozzerlla (sp?), Sausage, Hamburger, Pepperoni, and Canadian Bacon), Iced Tea with Lemon
Supper: The stuff off the top of a nacho (cheese, jalepeno, lump of steak), Wedge Salad (Iceberg Lettuce, Bacon pieces, crumbled Bleu Cheese), 16 Oz Sirloin Steak, a bit of spinich, and iced tea with lemon.

It's 12:37am CDT and I feel a bit hungry. My biggest faults have been the late night snacking. I'm not driving this time in Dallas, so I need to rely on a co-worker to get me around if I want to. Need to find some lovely pork rinds, maybe some mixed nuts (no peanuts of course)

Greetings from Dallas Texas.

Down here for a training class. First day pretty much of a bust.

I spent about 6 hours configuring a machine for a roadshow we are doing next month. Come to find out, someone here felt the need to format the ahrd disks and try something different. So now i have to start over again. Great. Fuckers.

Well, I'm covered in brake dust & tire scuff marks as I box up my BBS SX Rims and ship them off to a guy for a whoppin $600. Considering they cost $3100 when I bought them. I really hate Missouri roads. The damn potholes bent three of the four rims, and bubbled one of the tires.

So, I had to beg someone to buy them. He bought them for $800, but then later begged it down to $600. I just wanted to get rid of them by that point. We'll see how much shipping costs and if I actually get *anything* out of them other than removing them for my garage. It's depressing.

Also sold my 1.0Ghz Athlon on the web today. The guy already sent me his money. It's off to the races. I've decided to get rid of my 'extra' computers that were just running various distributed computing projects. It's a waste of space, and I can use the $$ from them for something worth while, like a really nice computer.

I've actually been leaning towards a Macintosh. I've always like them, and after buying my wife an iMac the desktop experience for me is a lot nicer than my Windows, or the attempts at the Linux desktop. I've been disenfranchised by the Windows world with the latest ugly release of Windows XP and their almost 'The Brain' like attempts to take over the world.

Oh well. Doubt I'll do anything.

Well it was my parents 35th wedding anniversary today and we went over to their house for dinner. I like to remember when a 35th Anniversary was something people often have done, but they don't do anymore.

It's depressing. You'd think people could make a comittment and stick to it, but it appears that a 35th wedding anniversary is the abnormal, instead of the normal today.

My wife's parents split right before 30 years of marriage, with no explanation, and they both remarried within a year to really mean people. So go figure. We still don't know what happened there.

My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on July 19th. I'd like to hope that in another 30 years we'd be celebrating our 35th. At this point I (naievly, probably) believe that we'll last the whole time, barring someone else killing us, but who knows eh?

Hello -

As usual, I got up this morning around 7:00ish, listened to the morning show on Kansas City's 'The Rock' 98.9FM. I was becoming coherant just as they were talking to Judge Joe Brown for some reason or another. Must be promoting something, what it was, who knows. Too many Judge shows on TV. I miss Talk Soup, that was where I could show proof that we have all died and gone to hell already, we just think we're all alive now...

Anyway, back to the idiots on 98.9FM. One of the disc jockeys got supenoaed for a divorce proceeding and they'd been discussing it as the fog that is sleep was lifiting. However, they started to ask Judge Joe Brown what he thought of it.

The idiot ringleader, Johnny Dare kept saying -Suh-penis- to see if anyone would notice. Either I suddenly grew up the last few weeks ( I turn 31 in August) or this radio station is tanking. The last few times I woke up to them, they weren't funny at all anymore, they were mean.

Work has been fun so far. Had a mandatory conference call that I scheduled that only 3 people out of the 14 invited showed up. Nice.
