The thoughts that float through my head when I remember to jot them down. An insight into the madness that is me.

Back from Great Bend. A slight stroll through memory lane. Hadn't made that trip in years (Grandpa moved to Lawrence in the Mid 90s to be near us, so we could help him out)
It was as stressful as expected, but what funeral isn't. I was doing ok until the viewing. I don't do well with those, it kinda all hits home at that point.
There was an extremely tough part where the priest asked people to stand up and comment on the things they remembered about him. I myself could not have gotten through a sentance. My Dad managed to choke through talking about how he always lit up, even after his stroke, when ever you placed a Great-Grand child in his lap. I was happy that my little girl got to bring him a small bit of happiness at the end of his life, and I will miss him greatly.
So, hopefully I'll stop posting these semi-depressing retrospectives after this week is over and move on to my usuall whiny posts.

Well, we're off to the vigil/funeral this afternoon. Heading to Great Bend, KS. Have not been there since my Grandpa moved here to Lawrence in 1995 or so, it's been a while.
should be a weird trip down memory lane. Also will be the first time I see my grandma's grave since we buried her in 1994.

My Grandpa, Louis Boucher, died in the early morning today. He was 93.
it was sort of expected, but was still unexected if you know what I mean. We'd been told he probably wouldn't last more than six months about three weeks ago. We put him on Hospice care at that point because going to a hospital was just painful for him.
He did get to meet my daughter, which I am greatful for. I hope he can see & hear again wherever he is.

Got the dish installed yesterday while I was in school. I swear to god dish installers think of one thing when the put a dish in. What's the most obvious, ugliest spot you can put it in.
They found it, right in the middle of the roof. Can't miss the dish for miles. Rather annoying. Oh well, I have hundreds of channels of goodness. We went ahead and got the NFL sunday ticket which gives us every OTHER channel (cept porn) that DirecTV offers for the next 4 months for $45 a month instead of the $57 for just the regular programming + HBO/Showtime that I wanted so, hey, I'll take it.
Not much else going on. Mom and Dad went to Denver so pretty quiet on the home front. I think that some of the family is coming here today sometime, but not sure when.
