Well, it looks like I won't have a telescope again. The one I want is on backorder until early next year. don't know if I want to wait that long.
Who knows, I'm pretty indecisive on that. I'll probably be thinking about this for a week or two before I decide what to do.
Not much else exciting going on here in Larrytown. My usual winter depression stuff must be setting in because I'm getting a bit on the grouchy side. Need to find something to keep me occupied.
Picked up the diploma & grade card from DeVry yesterday. Whee.

After a false start and stop, I finally ordered a new telescope to replace the monster I sold back in January.
My new scope will be a Meade AR-5 5" Achromatic Refractor with motorized mount.
What does that mean? well, it's a long tube with two lenses at one end.
I first ordered an Orion SkyPro 100 but Meade has this deal where you get something like 8 free eypeices ($695 value!) if you get one of theirs before the end of November.
I just hope it ships :) Anyway, with school over and this newer, lighter (my last scope weighed 100lbs) I might be able to enjoy the night sky this winter and have some fun looking at the Orion stellar group.
