Well, Fuck me.
Our house can't have a dish because some trees are in the way. We can't get any dish. So all this damn waiting was for nothing. That and I went and bought a new dish, a 5x8 switch and some splitters and what not that I now no longer need. Plus I upgraded my satellite TiVo to 146 Hrs only to find out it's a useless piece of tin now too.
Now I'll need to call directv and figure out what the next step is. I can't cut down the trees because they're not on my property, nor would I for a fricken TV. So I ordered cable which won't be here until Tuesday at the earliest anyway. Plus to get the channels I wanted on Satellite I need their damn box. They've got a DVR but it's not TiVo and now I have yet another device, my cable TV TiVo sitting around doing nothing.
So in short my whole weekend is totally fucked because now I'm pretty aggravated by the whole thing. I've got two useless devices that cost me almost $300 each and I have a dish & cabling stuff I can't use on the table hoping the place I ordered it from will take it back without charging me 15% to restock the thing. If they'll take it back at all.
Sigh.

I got to thinking the other day on the drive to the office.
I said something when I got my car tags here in NC that I never thought I'd say when I first got my personalized plates on my first car back in 1990.
Oh well, it's not that big of a deal.
Meaning, TREKKIE was not available in NC. And I didn't care.
I started thinking about it, and why I didn't care if I couldn't have Trekkie any more. I thought about it quite a bit and I came to the conclusion of this:
I do not like Enterprise with any passion what soever. I mean I really loved DS9, Voyager, and TNG. They had great story lines (most of the time) and were entertaining. Now Enterprise has a crappy opening song, weird re-done plots, and never was that good.
I didn't even care that I missed the last few episodes when we moved. I was more annoyed about missing Smallville and That 70's Show.
Guess it goes to show that even bad programming can kill the most die hard fan. Of course I was never that die hard because I never went to a convention.
Oh well. Hopefully something new will come along or I'll have to *gasp* watch less TV!

OK, for the record. My tennis shoes do not provide enough traction on my roof for me to put a sattelite dish up and the folks at DirecTV are going to come out and do it for me.
Thankfully, there was a small side roof my left foot could catch or I'd have come sliding off when my shoes lost traction. hopefully neighbors didn't have their windows open. The words I said the 9th time I attempted to get my wifes attention to hold the ladder that my right foot was trying to push off the roof as I laid there flat on the roof. with al my weight on my left foot.
