Uh Oh.
Well, it appears the hard drive in my iMac has failed. I was playing World of Warcraft and Calvin crawled under the desk and turned off the surge proectector.
After extracating him from under the desk and turning it back on the screen greets me with a finder Icon and a question mark alternating in the middle of the screen.
I turn it off/back on a few times and same thing. I put the CD in and try to boot from it and the apple logo appears for a bit and then it shifts slightly leaving some garbage graphics in its place and the fans take off like this thing is going to hover. While it's quiet day to day it sure can be loud if it needs/wants too.
Trying to copy things to Angi's iBook temporarily so that I can save what I can type of thing. My music is on the iPod at least so I'm not worried about it too much. I'm sure going to buy iPodRip as soon as my iMac gets fixed.
After data gets copied off I'm going to run disk utility again and call Apple. We'll see how things go from there.
