Apple, Intel, and the AMD Lawsuit.

They beat me too it. I was thinking the same thing. AMD is alleging that the more business you do with Intel and the less you do with Intel's Competitors (*cough* AMD *cough*) you get 'rebates' or something. It's similar to what computer vendors do with their resellers. They have a set price but if you do various other programs or incentives there are back end 'rebates' that you get in various program.s
Was that the secret behind the Intel shift at Apple? I wouldn't discount it unlike the only comment to GMSV's article. While Intel chips are speedy, I don't think that is the sole reason Apple shifted to Intel. MHz/GHz isn't everything or otherwise the 3.6GHz and 3.8GHz would be at the top of the top500.org supercomputer list.
