Latest Web Trend: Podjacking
It appears that there is a new phenomenon of RSS Hijacking....Podjacking?
The trick is for an asshole of a person to register his own URL for a podcaster, and then as the podcast gets popular, shut it down and take over.
So then you're directory services like Yahoo or iTunes are rather hard to change once they're ingrained, because you're not the owner of the record. So now folks like Northwest noise have their podcast feed hijacked by Podkeyword...and they're demanding money or they'll kill the feed, and kill the listeners.
Nice, isn't it?
